WELCOME TO HOPE SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL

ABOUT HOPE SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL

H.O.P.E. (Home Oriented Programs for Education) Schools International, has been established for the purpose of providing administrative accountability and record keeping for enrolled families who have chosen to educate their children at home. It is the goal of HOPE Schools to offer a program that would come along side of you, as parents or guardians, as a resource to enhance your home education. HOPE Schools provides an umbrella for those who do not wish to file individual private school affidavits with the state of California. This includes filing the affidavit for your student and maintaining the enrolled student’s cumulative record in a professional manner. HOPE Schools also provides an umbrella program for missionaries in foreign countries at no tuition cost. The education of the student is the responsibility of the student’s parent or guardian and not Hope Schools International. HOPE is for students grades Kindergarten - 12th Grade.

HOW DO I ENROLL?

-Step 1: Please submit a completed registration form along with payment. You can submit a hard copy by mail or in person. Or, you can fill in the form online (using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC) https://get.adobe.com/reader/ and email it in. There is a scanner app for your phone called "My Scans" that works great if you choose to scan a hard copy or other documents. The registration fee price differs depending on the number of students and can be calculated right on the registration form in the "Financial Agreement” section. You can pay by check made out to HOPE Schools or pay online.

-Step 2: Please submit a copy of your child's birth certificate and immunizations along with your registration form. Students entering first grade must also submit a “Report of Health Examination for School Entry” which is filled out by your child’s pediatrician. If you have questions about the immunization or health examination requirements, please see the HOPE Handbook on page 3 for exemptions and options.

-Step 3: That's it! Then, your child is officially enrolled in HOPE Schools International and we will then request your child's academic records from his or her previous school. Please be sure to fill out the second page of the registration form (The request for student records) in order for us to do this step. You would then receive an "orientation" email to familiarize you with the simple forms that are turned in at the end of each quarter.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

My name is Patti Cook and I have the privilege of being the director of HOPE Schools International. HOPE was established in 1993 by Mrs. Dee Haselhuhn. Upon her retirement in 2017, Dee graciously allowed me the opportunity to continue HOPE Schools for families who choose to educate their children at home. I am married with three girls and we homeschool all three of them.

My family and I moved here to Redding from San Jose, CA, in 2015 when my husband, Jonathan, became the new senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church. Just to give you a little of my background, from a very early age I have always loved to work with children and knew I wanted to be a teacher. I taught preschool for several years. Then, I worked as an associate teacher in a local elementary school while I finished up my B.A. degree in Child and Adolescent Development and earned my California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. With this credential, I taught Kindergarten for several years in a public school until my oldest daughter turned three years old. I was then able to stay home and begin homeschooling!

More recently, upon moving here to Redding, I helped implement and coordinate a homeschool program for a local Christian school. That helped prepare me for the task of directing HOPE Schools International. I enjoy seeing the progress that families make as they homeschool their children and helping students achieve their goals of earning their high school diploma. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I'd love to meet with you.
